Good Morning Magnolia | Be Inspired Blog Hop

Hello everyone, I am so excited to be sharing with you today as part of the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. I've been inspired by all of the members of this design team for such a long time so it is an absolute honour to now be taking part in these monthly blog hops.

With this months theme being "Anything Goes!" it seems I've joined the team at an ideal time. I had the freedom to create anything and with a box of brand new goodies from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue I could wait to get playing.

The minute I saw the new catalogue I was immediately drawn to this gorgeous magnolia image from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. This stamp is the perfect image for colouring and I chose to use my Stampin' Blends in Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow for this project. The magnolia image also looks fantastic uncoloured, if you look closely you'll notice that I've stamped the image several times in Crumb Cake to create a tone on tone background.

To create a little extra texture variation I've added dry embossing using some coordinating dies from the Magnolia Memories Dies and and some copper foil leaves from the same set of dies.

I hope you have been inspired by my project today and I urge you to continue through the hop to see more inspiring ideas from the rest of the team. Next up is Janneke de Jong, I can't wait to see what she is sharing today.

Stampin' Up! Aritsan Blog Hop - Carry Over Event

Hello everyone and welcome to another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. This month we have a little something different for you. Each of us have chosen a Stampin’ Up! stamp set or tool that is being carried over to the 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalogue and we have designed a project/projects that could be demonstrated in an event or class setting.
I chose to design a class that showcases the Darling Label Punch Box.

This gorgeous Night of Navy and Gold tin comes filled with a 6-piece photopolymer stamp set, the Darling Label punch, a clear stamp block and two Classic Stampin’ Spots in Night of Navy and Grapefruit Grove. I've chose to focus on using the stamp set and punch to create these projects a half day class setting.

When creating this box and set of cards I chose to use Whisper White Note Cards as a card base and have used a colour combo of Night of Navy, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive and Smoky Slate with touches of Gold. I also used some other carry over products, including the Flourish Thinlits and the Beauty Abounds stamp set, however if you wanted to recreate these products in a class with less products, each of the designs can easily be stepped down.

The first card I created for this set was inspired by the imagery on the Darling Label Punch Box tin. One of the stamps in the set has the same flower image as the tin and I just couldn’t resist heat embossing it in Gold on Night of Navy cardstock.

I kept this next card simple by stamping a few bokeh spots from the Beauty Abounds stamp set in Smoky Slate on some Smoky Slate cardstock before adding texture with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I finished it off with a simple sentiment banner, a flower and some leaves and a little Gold Metallic Thread

One of the things I love about using Note card sized card bases is that they are the perfect size for smaller images like this “Thinking of You” sentiment. In the stepped up version I’ve used the Stamparatus and some masking to stamp the image in two different colours and added a second leaf image underneath the sentiment.

For the fourth card in the set I couldn’t decide whether to stick with a clean white or a sponged Blackberry Bliss background so I did both. I’m still not sure which one is my favourite. Which do you prefer?

Finally, I created a matchbox style box to hold the four cards, however the design could easily work as a card front.

Well that’s all from me today. I hope you have been inspired by my projects and the projects created my fellow Artisans. If you want to use my projects in a class or just want to re-create your own set of contact me (here) to get a copy of the tutorials.

Next up in the hop is the fabulous Angela Meiritz-Reid, I'm sure you are going to love what she has created.

Thank you for stopping by. Happy stamping

Hello Seaside Spray

Hello everyone, welcome to the first of a series of posts featuring the new 2019-2021 In Colors. For those of you who haven't seen the new In Colors, here they are;
Aren't they beautiful? They remind me of a colour palette that you might see in a home design magazine. In fact Terracotta Tile is a very similar colour to a feature wall in my living room.

Today I am featuring a project using Seaside Spray.

The background has been created by embossing the fern from the new Daisy Lane Stamp Set and I fussy cut the same fern to layer on top of a Sahara Sand label die cut using the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

Here's a closer look at the detail created by Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I think these are my new favourite dies. Inspired by the Just Add Ink challenge theme this week I chose to go with a Sympathy sentiment, although this card could easily be suitable for a birthday, get well, congratulations or thank you card.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Make sure you pop back in a couple of days to see another project featuring another new In Color.

Ombre Lined Alphabet | Let's Get Hopping # 20

Hi everyone and welcome to my second blog post for today!!! Crazy, I know but I just loved this month's Lets Get Hopping Blog Hop theme so much there was no way I was going to miss it.

For those of you who are just joining the hop here, this month we are showcasing projects that featuring some form of colouring technique.

In my project I chose to use my Stampin' Up! blends to colour the letters in an ombre rainbow.

I don't know about you, but there is something about rainbow colours that make my heart smile and using Stampin' Blends to colour the letters in an ombre effect adds a little extra something to the project.

To tie in the rainbow theme I arranged some strips of Designer Series Paper across the card base, distressing the bottom edge a little to add some texture.

Next up in the hop is the amazing Eva Pottsova. I can't wait to see what she has to share with us.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Everything is Rosy Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to an extra special Artisan Design Team blog hop. Today we are all sharing projects created with the absolutely stunning products in the Everything Is Rosy Product Medley which is available from 1st May until 31st May, or while supplies last.

The Everything Is Rosy Product Medley is an exclusive, limited-time collection of coordinating, petal-packed products that has everything you need to let your creativity bloom. As you can see with this medley of products it is almost impossible to stop creating.

When I opened the Product Medley box I couldn't wait to splatter some of the gorgeous Rose Gold Shimmer Paint on some Night of Navy cardstock which ended up being the base for this first card. The Medley also includes a couple of sheets of Rose Gold die cuts featuring several different label shapes which are perfect for sentiments.

In this next card I chose to include both stamped images and printed die cuts in the flower cluster. The printed die cut images are similar to the stamp images but some of the leaves and flowers are smaller than the stamps so they work great together when layering.

With this next card I used one of the leaves dies and an embossing mat to add some texture to the card base. And did you notice the rose gold pearls? I made these by painting some Rose Gold Shimmer Paint on some Pearl Basic Jewels. Aren't they just sooo pretty?

This next card features my favourite pattern from the Designer Series Paper Stack. This beautiful Night of Navy and Rose Gold Foil pattern is so stunning and I wanted it to be the "hero" of this project so I only added a couple of layers with some simple die cuts, a little Melon Mambo Ruched Ribbon, a sentiment panel and some Smoky Slate cardstock. To add a little extra detail I cut a panel from the centre of the DSP with a Stitched Rectangle die and raised it up from the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals

The background on this last card was created using a technique that I learnt from one of Stampin' Up!'s concept artists, Cindy Schuster. Firstly, I die cut lots of the leaves in Whisper White cardstock and then I adhered them to a piece of Vellum. When I was happy with the layout I die cut a panel out with the Stitched Rectangles dies and adhered it to the card base, being careful to hide the adhesive under the leaves.

So I know what you are thinking...how do you get your hands on this awesome product medley? Well the Everything Is Rosy Product Medley can be purchased for a limited time from the 1st May until the 31st May or while supplies last. But don't wait until tomorrow to place your order, this medley of product is just so beautiful it is going to sell out quickly.
