Let's Get Hopping | Back to Basics

Hi. Welcome back to another Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop.

Today's hop is all about getting "Back to the Basics" and sharing a project that's been created without the tools and gadgets we all love.

I've got to say, this challenge was tough. It really highlighted to me how much I rely on gadgets like my BigShot, punches and colouring tools to add detail to my projects. However, I'm really glad I persisted and here's the project I created

Inspired by this week's TGIF challenge theme of Gratitude I was drawn to this lovely script stamp from All Things Thanks. To add a little extra dimension I stamped the sentiment first in Powder Pink and then in Berry Burst.

The background was created by randomly stamping the large flower from Birthday Blooms in Basic Black Archival ink on Whisper White cardstock and I couldn't resist adding a little extra bling with some ribbon, bakers twine and a tassel.

Hopefully, I've inspired you to give the gadgets a break and have a go at creating a project with just some stamps, paper and ink.

Sweet treat packaging

Hi again,

I've been a bit absent from here over the past couple of weeks. Life outside of papercrafting has been a little hectic of late and sadly my blog has had to take a step aside for a few days. But now I'm back and excited to share some more gorgeous projects with you.

While most of my papercrafting time is spent cardmaking, one of my favourite things to create is beautiful packaging for treats and gifts. I'm very lucky to have an amazing homemade macaron business called Flavour + Heart in my local area and aside from being absolutely delicious, their macarons are so pretty and I just couldn't resist having a play with some beautiful gift packaging to compliment them. 

These Clear Tiny Treat boxes from Stampin' Up! are the perfect size to hold 2 delicious macarons. Add a belly band of Delightfully Daisy DSP, a paper daisy from the Daisy Delight stamp set and a little ribbon and mini sequin trim and you have a beautiful treat to give as a party favour or wedding bonbonarie.

The next treat box has been made with some soft sky cardstock and a panel of window sheet scored and wrapped around the box so it will slide on and off. I've then added a belly band of Naturally Eclectic DSP and embellished it with a die cut diamond (from the Eclectic Layers thinlits) in silver glimmer paper, coordinating cardstock and a little silver mini sequin trim. For the 

sentiment I went with a Thank You from the All Things Thanks stamp set.

While a couple of macarons are nice as a small thank you gift or party favour, a box of 12 macarons was the perfect birthday gift for my macaron loving sister. 

The inspiration for this packaging came from this gorgeous card by the amazing Susan Wong. 

Usually when I CASE a project I take one or two elements and come up with my own creation but in this case I really struggled to improve on, what I'm sure you'll agree, is perfection. Thanks for the inspiration, Susan

Lastly I wanted a fun way to package a single macaron for a kids birthday party and I came up with this macaron pop in a box.

Flavour + Heart's legendary Fruit Tingle macarons looks amazing in this window sheet box embellished with a simple banner, an embossed balloon and a little white bakers twine.

Delightfully Potted Gifts | Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights

Welcome back.

Today I'm playing along with Kylie Bertucci’s monthly International Blog Highlights.  I've long been a follower of Kylie Bertucci, an awesome Stampin' Up! demonstrator in Australia, and one of my goals when starting this blog was to participate in Kylie's International Highlights .

I am constantly amazed by my children's wonderful teachers and what

better way to show your appreciation than with a beautifully wrapped pot plant.

Stampin' Up! makes the most beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) and this Delightfully Daisy DSP is no exception. 

When working with DSP that has a large detailed pattern like this one I like to keep the other details simple. On this project I've added a tag with a watercolour splash of Old Olive and the sentiment from All Things Thanks was heat embossed in copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. The tag is then secured with some Ombre Ribbon in Calypso Coral

The second plant has been wrapped in the daisy print Delighfully Daisy DSP with some Double Stitched Ribbon in Daffodil Delight and a bow in the new Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon.

The Pretty Label punch and coordinating Label Me Pretty stamp set is great for creating tags and in this instance I've embossed the a floral pattern on a Night of Navy Pretty Label in White Stampin' Emboss  Powder and then layered a circle of Daffodil Delight and Whisper White with the sentiment stamped in Night of Navy. I've then secured the label and another bow to a cake pop stick before sticking it into the soil.
