Just can't resist Petal Passion

Wow, it's been a big few days in the world of Stampin Up and there are a couple if exciting announcements that I'm busting to share. However, before we get to that I want to share my most recent project.

If I'm honest the Petal Passion suite did not appeal to me when I first saw it. I'm not sure what it was, but I just didn't have that "I've gotta have that!" feeling. The one day I was browsing through one of my favourite blog hops, The Crafty Carrot Collective, and I was immediately converted and I ordered the whole suite. (Seriously if you don't subscribe to the Crafty Carrot Collective yet you need to join asap, the four amazing demonstrators who host the program are absolute design geniuses. So it's no surprise that as soon as the postie delivered my order I just had to get creating.

The first thing I wanted to do was use a little emboss resist. I'd seem these flowers embossed in white and then watercoloured. Unfortunately in my excitement to get crafting I stamped the flowers on a piece of Whisper White cardstock rather than Shimmery White so instead of watercolouring I coloured the flowers with a blender pen. Thank goodness Stampin' Up! has so many colouring tools.

Then when it came to building the card I had another dilemma. In my mind I had envisioned a long narrow white card with some Petal Passion DSP and touch of Basic Black. However, in my initial design the white base was too white and the DSP was too black. Fast forward a bit and my problem was solved with a vellum circle to soften the black and white DSP and the embossing leaves from the Eclectic Layers thinlits to add texture to the white base.

Now to the exciting new Stampin' Up! has shared this week.

The release of the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue also brings a Colour Revamp!!!

Woohoo new colours to play with!!!
However sadly to make way for the new colours some of our favourites will be retiring. If you have any of the colours listed below make sure you get in quick to order reinkers and some cardstock because once stock of these colours has sold out they will be gone for good.

There are also lots retiring from the 2017-2018 Catalogue at the end of May. To say goodbye to a few of my favourites stay tuned over the coming weeks where I'll be playing with some of my favourite retiring products one last time.

Happy crafting
- Tan xx
